Mark Smith started performing stand-up in 2008, originally going by the name of Winston Smith. He got to the final of So You Think You’re Funny that year.

As a stand up Mark has reached the final of So You Think You’re Funny (2009), appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3) and written and performed three successful hour-long Edinburgh shows. He has also appeared as a regular performer on Nick Helm’s Heavy Entertainment (BBC Three), Comfort Eating (Dave) and as a correspondent for cult music show Gonzo (MTV2).
Mark’s TV writing credits include 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4) and Mock the Week (BBC). Mark is a huge fan of sports and is currently hosting The Everything but Football Football Show online for Manchester United and their main sponsors Chevrolet, as well as developing a Fantasy Football vidcast/podcast with Craft Productions. Previously he hosted a weekly segment on The Football Republic, a popular YouTube channel.
Mark has done warm-up for shows such as Have I Got News For You (BBC1), Room 101 (BBC1), Made in Chelsea (E4) and This Time Next Year (ITV) , Away from comedy Mark has appeared in commercial adverts, for William Hill bookmakers and Ballentine’s Whiskey, as well as written for commercial advertising campaigns, most notably for Tesco and Tango. Mark is currently developing his own show, Mark Smith vs The People, for television/online.
