About
Son of Spitting Image and Dead Ringers star Jan Ravens, firebrand comic Alfie Brown started performing stand-up in 2006 at the age of 18. Known for intentionally shunning the mainstream world of TV comedy and panel shows, Alfie’s impressive career to date includes taking a show to the Edinburgh fringe every year since 2009. His latest 2017 show Scissor at the Fringe was followed by a successful international tour, and lead him to being hailed as ”a fascinating performer, eloquently firing doubt into your once-certain worldview.” Chortle
Alfie’s radical comic style has been honed over time through experimentation, moving seamlessly from hour-long idea driven shows to assertive, compelling sets in a variety of club scenarios. Alongside his more traditional standup, the last year has seen Alfie launch his own podcast, Whatever Works, a weekly improvised stand-up show, recorded in front of a live audience, about whatever is in the news, in Alfie’s heart or in the minds and mouths of the crowd. Alfie has made a rare venture onto the small screen in recent months, appearing in the new TV show Brexit Stage Left on VICELAND, where he and fellow award-winning comedians Jamali Maddix Fern Brady, and Sean McLoughlin take in a quick-fire stand-up tour of post Brexit Europe. With material touching on the human condition and observations on social-political issues, Alfie has garnered critical acclaim and provoked the masses throughout his career. He continues to grow a loyal fan base both in the UK, throughout Europe and beyond for his witty and searingly honest spin on the world.

Bio
29 year old Alfie started gigging on the comedy circuit 11 years ago, following his first foray into the spotlight at 15, performing in Harry Hill’s show stage show Wild Horses. His Edinburgh debut came in 2009 with The Lunchtime Club, performing alongside the cream of young British comedy talent Joe Lycett, David Morgan, Benjamin Partridge, and Ivo Graham, the latter with whom he went on to perform an Edinburgh show alongside the following year.
In 2011, and with 5 years on the circuit under his belt, Alfie took his first solo show Alfie Brown: The Love You Take to the festival, an evocative show that used extraordinary language to condemn the demise of culture and articulate the importance of imagination, opinions and love. Although this first attempt went somewhat under the radar, his subsequent Edinburgh shows, Soul for Sale and The Revolting Youth began to grab the attention of critics for their provocative and often vitriolic tone, and in 2014 he shook the tree further with Divorced from Reality (And my Wife), a blisteringly honest stand up show dissecting his divorce, his experience of Bipolar Disorder, and relationship with reality. Deemed too alternative even for Stewart Lee’s Alternative Comedy Experience, by his own account, Alfie has not shied away from continuing to court the controversial.
His successive shows to date, Alfie Brown:-ism, Scissor and Whatever Works, have carried on pushing boundaries, covering themes such as modern tribalism, collective sexual repression, the middle east, education and therapy, all with ferocious insight. When Alfie is not plying his trade in the clubs or touring shows, he can be seen collecting ideas for his material, (and cash for his family) in his ‘day job’ driving a secondhand black Prius Uber cab around North London. He also continues to collaborate with the mother of his 2 children, ex partner and Harry Potter actress Jessie Cave for the semi-autobiographical web series Chop Logic.
