About
Bobby Mair is self-confessed ‘dark, honest and loud stand-up comic’; if you’re inclined towards the depraved, and lucky enough to catch him live, you’re in for a real (albeit slightly twisted) treat.
Famed for teetering on the edge of decency, Mair has toured extensively across Europe, Canada and South Africa and recently starred in his own webseries for Comedy Central UK called The Bobby Mair Show. He also starred in the reality sitcom Bobby and Harriet: Get Married with his ‘real life’ wife Harriet Kemsley for Viceland.
Telly wise, in the UK he has appeared on BBC2’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats, BBC3’s Russell Howard’s Good News, and Sweat The Small Stuff, E4’s Virtually Famous, Comedy Central’s Live at The Comedy Store and KSI’s Demolished. He is also set to appear on the upcoming Comedy Central’s Roast Battle.
In Canada, he’s been on Comedy NOW, Just For Laughs: All Access, The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos, and won $10 000 in Stand Up and Bite Me, a competition on Bite TV.
Mair has a 26 date UK tour starting in February.

Bio
Born in 1986 in Toronto, Canada, Bobby Mair was adopted at birth. He has since tracked down his birth mother, who sadly died shortly after he made contact with her. In his show Bobby Mair – Obviously Adopted he talks about the bad luck of being adopted into a dysfunctional family and having to create a profile on a gay dating website to search for his biological father.
With a natural comedic flare from a young age, Mair started doing comedy whilst living in Toronto by enrolling at Toronto’s Humber College on their Comedy Writing and Performance Programme. He felt the course was ‘too slow’ and dropped out before completing it. He started doing shows on the live circuit and his dark, subversive subject matter quickly got him noticed by the local stand-up community.
In 2008 he won the ‘People’s Choice Winner’ in the Canadian competition ‘Stand up and Bite Me’. 2011 saw him go on to win the entire contest, landing himself $10,000 in prize money. This lead to a TV comedy special called Comedy Now, freeing him from making money by taking part in medical testing.
Mair moved to London in July 2011 and secured an opening slot for one of his favourites comedians, Doug Stanhope.
A regular favourite at The Edinburgh Fringe, Mair recently ‘protested’ for Julian Assange after he lost his internet access by offering to ‘read the internet out for him’. In 2017 Mair filmed a six-part reality TV show to rival the Kardashians with fellow comedian-wife Harriet Kemsley.
Mair is a third cousin of Canadian pop star Justin Bieber – although he says that they have never met.
