Bio
Born and raised in Hackney, East London, Omotayo is fast earning himself an impressive reputation on the circuit. His ‘calmly cheery and likably laid-back’ delivery and tales of his childhood between Hackney and later, Lagos, are garnering him fans and plaudits alike. His dream show is the Hackney Empire, such is his affection for the area he grew up in. “I want to do a show there to give something back’ Omotayo says. “To give the people the truth, the real Hackney and I would love the audiences to come together and merge.”
In 2012 he went on to win the Leicester Square Act of the Year competition, shortly after becoming joint winner of the Amused Moose’s Laugh Off Competition
In 2015, Funmbi Omotayo appeared on The John Bishop Show and has also appeared on ITV2’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here….NOW! He has performed at Camden Fringe, The Edinburgh Festival and had sold out shows at London’s Soho Theatre.
