John Hastings has been performing stand up all over his native Canada since 2006.
He has won the Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival Homegrown Comedy Competition, has been called “one to watch” by the Comedy Network and was the only Canadian Finalist of the 2011 San Francisco Comedy Competition. On top of that he was the youngest comedian to appear at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival in 2011.
In 2012, John won the COCA comedian of the year award and moved to London. In 2013 he was chosen to be part of the Pleasance Comedy Reserve Showcase at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. From that point onward, John has been performing across the comedy circuit and at every festival in the country. From the Glasgow Comedy Festival to Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival, Machynlleth, Sonisphere, Galway Comedy Festival, Nottingham, OffBeat, Derby and many, many more – not to mention the clubs, from The Stand to The Glee Clubs and every club in between.

Bio
Hastings has been doing stand-up since 2006. Since winning the 2010 Irwin Barker Canadian Homegrown Championship at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, Hastings has been nominated for a Canadian Comedy award in the category of Best Newcomer and was named one of the five “comedians to watch” by the Canadian Comedy Network.
He was the youngest featured performer at the 2011 Winnipeg Comedy Festival and was the youngest and only Canadian finalist of the 2011 San Francisco International Comedy Festival. His stand-up comedy special was chosen to be the last ever, on the 15-show run of Canada’s only stand-up comedy showcase program “Comedy Now.” After 6 years John also won the prestigious COCA Comedian of the year award for 2012. Now his comedic pursuits take him to the United Kingdom and he nervously okay with being here.
After debuting his first Edinburgh show ‘Unrelentless’ in 2012, John is now a regular performer at The Fringe and reached critical acclaim with a new hour, 2014 Adventure, 2015 Marked From the Start – which was nominated for the Amused Moose Best Show Award.
2014’s show lead him to be picked by Mary Tobin Presents to be part of The Best of Edinburgh Fringe across the Australian festivals in 2015 and he returned to Melbourne in 2016 to be part of the show again.
There is no doubt that John is an incredible performer and will continue to work his way across the world making audience’s laugh.
