Bio

McLoughlin arrived on the comedy scene in 2007 and quickly established himself on the Northern circuit performing at The Stand and The Frog & Bucket among others. Now back down south in Brighton, Sean is quickly becoming a name to be noticed, bringing his ‘highly original yet hugely accessible’ material and ‘immaculate timing’ to packed out venues across the UK.

On tour McLoughlin has recently supported Ricky Gervais on his international ‘Humanity’ tour, having previously opened for Katherine Ryan, Doc Brown and the David Brent Live shows. He has also appeared at comedy festivals in Montreal, Kilkenny, Dublin, Rotterdam and for many years at the Edinburgh Fringe where he has performed five solo shows including ‘Kamikaze’ . His show ‘Whatever it takes’ had a full run at Edinburgh in 2015, toured across the UK and finished up with a stint at The Soho Theatre in London.

TV wise, McLoughlin has performed on Russell Howard’s Stand-Up Central and Comedy Central At The Comedy Store, and was one of the ‘stars’ of Brexit Stage Left, a 5-part series on Viceland. If you live in North America you can watch him on Kevin Hart’s LOL Network with a set he recorded at Just For Laughs festival.

As well as performing solo shows every year at the Edinburgh Fringe, McLoughlin also hosts a podcast called Heal Your Wounds with producer and co-host Eliot Fallows. Each episode features Sean chatting with some of the funniest comedians out there, and asks the most important question of the age ‘What’s your middle name?’. In McLoughlin’s own words; ‘it’s usually pretty good’.

Chortle describes McLoughlin as ‘a smart and bold comic, offering a brutally realistic, downbeat take on the world and his own place in it, conveyed with spirit and a dark-edged wit.’
