Well done you guys! I guess I might ask where his favourite places to perform are, and if he finds consistently different responses in the North/South/Scotland/Wales etc. I have no doubt he'll handle whatever we throw at him well, I've seen him live in a few places. I second your suggestion about questions perhaps regarding the theory and practice of writing comedy. I wouldn't have a clue about that! Good luck and thanks again 😺

Thanks again Kai, they're all good comedy and I'll be there. My enjoyment of comedy is generally driven by my mood. Sometimes I fancy certain things, sometimes I fancy others. That's why the watch again option can be so useful 🤓

Certainly all of this has improved very significantly in the 36 years I've used a wheelchair all of the time. There's a perfectly good view from the accessible seats available in theatres and cinemas all over the country.

Buses are accessible, most cities have accessible taxis available.

I live in County Durham where there are barely any accessible taxis, it's a large county made up of small villages. It's mostly just farmland and countryside.

I own and drive a car, until recently I also had a trike.

Most of all I find people are reasonable with me when I'm reasonable with them.

In a theatre the wheelchair accessible seats are usually about ⅔ of the way to the back of the hall. Those floors are sloped, so that's fine. At pub gigs, festivals etc I'd aim for the front and have invariably found people willing to make space for me (and my wheelchair).
