About
Jonny Pelham was born with popliteal pterygium syndrome, which affects around 200 people in the UK and comes with a comically rich collection of physical abnormalities. His routines often draw on his experiences with the NHS, (where he was offered plastic surgery he didn’t think he needed) and being sent to ‘Camp Courage’ for disabled children. Born to therapist parents in Bradford, Pelham one of the few white kids in a multi-ethnic school and the one white member of an all-Bengali gang, further contributing to his outsider-status which heavily informs his material.

Enjoy an entrancing tour rich with anecdotal awkwardness from Jonny Pelham as he guides you from his uneasy adolescence (as the only white guy in a Bangladeshi gang) to his misguided adulthood (too many to reference).

Bio
Pelham, who describes himself as ‘quite a weird man’ began stand-up at university. Unsurprisingly from the child of two psychotherapists, his work is prone to themes of introspection. Pelham is quick to be self-deprecating but nonetheless naturally comedic, drawing on his experiences as the awkward misfit and constant outsider.
Following his 3 well received shows (Before and After, Fool’s Paradise and Just Shout Louder), in 2016 Pelham made the cross over into TV on Russell Howards Stand UP Central and a supporting slot on Live at the BBC. He also appeared in Harriet & Bobbly Get Married by Viceland, and the Turtle Canyon series Plane Spotting.
He has several further TV shows on the horizon including his presenting debut and various writing projects.
