Nextup showcases the widest range of stand-up comedy specials, featuring up-and-coming comedians alongside established names, practicing all types of live comedy. Whether it’s sketch, character, clowning, storytelling, observational or musical – if you’re a performer who tries to make a live audience laugh – you could be streamed on NextUp.
Our platform is available worldwide via a whole range of apps so you can be discovered and enjoyed by comedy fans at any time, anywhere.
Benefits for Comedians
Like Spotify, we operate on a revenue share – splitting all our subscriber revenue 50/50. So half goes to NextUp, and the other half goes to the acts, which is proportioned based on minutes watched.
We also actively pursue 3rd party licensing deals where shows can be licensed on an individual basis to other platforms and broadcasters such as Virgin Atlantic, South West Trains and Audible.
As we’re a start-up, these amounts aren’t going to buy any performer a new yacht but we’re growing year on year and bring in more revenue for artists compared to a YouTube ad-funded model.
We also have an engaged audience of comedy fans who love discovering new acts and rewatching old faves. Exposure is increased not only through the videos, but through the individual artists pages we create for every performer on the platform – all of which you can see here.
What Fans Say
I can only thank @nextupcomedy for introducing me to so much wonderful comic talent. I cannot recommend it enough. Deciding who to see at @edfringe festivals in the future however will be one heck of a challenge! #streamingstandup— Rich Dudley (@oldgoldrich) March 9, 2019
Brilliant night last night thanks to @nextupcomedy. Saw two brilliant female comedians – @EleanorMorton & @MaisieAdam. I love and celebrate funny women. Their shows were filmed so make sure you catch ‘em on Next Up soon & go catch ‘em live too. Congrats and thanks Queens 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽— Tori Allen-Martin (@toriallenmartin) February 28, 2019
