😆The opportunity to record and release their show as a NextUp comedy special.

On 16 August, we will reveal the 20 long-listed shows, selected through your nominations and recommendations from our comedy scout network.

You will then cast your final votes before the winner is announced on 27 August, when one comedian will face the logistical challenge of transporting a two-metre trophy back home at the end of the Fringe. How fun?!

Note: Eligible shows must be comedy performances running 50 minutes or longer and programmed for 20 or more performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The Biggest Award In Comedy is BACK! 🏆

Hey gang! You might know that the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is full of awards. And whilst some are decided by critics and some by industry panels, The Biggest Award in Comedy (2 metres and 4 centimetres tall to be exact) is decided by one of the UK’s most dedicated communities of comedy fans. YOU GUYS!

Returning for 2026, NextUp’s gloriously oversized comedy prize invites you to nominate the Edinburgh Fringe shows you believe deserve to be celebrated. Those nominations are combined with recommendations from NextUp’s panel of comedy scouts to produce a longlist of the 20 most-nominated shows, before casting your final votes to decide the winner.

Voting for nominations opens FRIDAY. Get those thinking caps on. And I'll post more information then. 😁

FRINGE WEEK IS HERE! What's on? 🤩

Omg guys! I can't believe another Fringe is upon us. This Friday and Saturday, the fun starts - we're kicking off your 'at-home' festivals with none other than a couple of Monkey Barrel 'Big Shows'.

For the peeps that are new here, The Big Show is one of the most iconic shows at the Fringe. Monkey Barrel is quite literally Scotland's best comedy club and according to the Telegraph, 'the beating heart of Fringe'. They will be showcasing the best comedy acts this year has in store. And what's even better, is we have FIVE of these livestreams throughout the month. AHH!

Here's the lineup so far (I'll keep updating this caption if any more names get added):
