Hey Nextuppers, I reckon it's time we had some decent chat on these here new(ish) community feeds.... So, how did you find the first two livestreams of the Fringe? I personally loved both of them, and have new comedians to follow as a result. Also there was chat from some folk saying that they've never been to the Fringe before, and I'd like to know why, do you live far away? Or unable to make it for any other reason? I personally stay in Glasgow, so I'm just fucking lazy these days (I jest, I'm a chef so it's pretty tricky :p). Also let's reiterate what a great job  this platform  continues to do for live comedy and accessibility to it.

Much love,
Dan. (absolutely no affiliation to the site, just a huge live comedy fan)

I used to live in Glasgow and commuted through to the Fringe multiple times during August. But now I live in Derbyshire and have to plan travel and accommodation to see shows. This year we could only afford  4 days (Edinburgh is eye-wateringly expensive) and managed to cram 20 shows into that time. Next Up is brilliant for letting me see many more acts than that, and only 2 of their coverage are shows I saw in person. BTW my top pick from this year is Ahir Shah's show at Monkey Barrel - perfect stand-up.)

I worked at the fringe in 2014 as a venue tech.

I worked for a company called TheSpaceUK who owned the most amount of fringe venues at the time.

I've never been since unfortunately and I had not been there before working there.

I work as a lighting engineer in Liverpool events and felt like the fringe was a good first step after recently graduating my tech theatre course.

I managed to catch a few comedy shows while I was there, one being Tony law at The Stand

I've been to the Fringe 12 of the last 19 years, but last time was pre-pandemic. Accommodation too expensive now, but I might go next year for my 20th Anniversary. Favourite acts over the years have included Idiot of Ants, Pappy's, Tim Vine, The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre, Bridget Christie, Tommy Tiernan, Delightful Sausage, Rob Rouse, and a few we're not allowed to talk about anymore...

Used to go there every year, but this year accomodation was 200% up from last time, so we decided to do something else. Would love to go again though, if the cost comes down to manageable again :P
