Hey NextUppers,

To help us invest more in great comedy shows, we wanted to let you know that we’re retiring our Apple TV and Android TV apps.

However, if you have these devices you can still watch NextUp on them using Chromecast or AirPlay. VIew instructions in our FAQ here.

We understand this is not ideal for some users, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. However, due to the casting ability, we hope the impact is minimal.

Thanks for your understanding, these decisions are never easy and not ones we like to ever make.

If you have any concerns, please reach out to us via support@nextupcomedy.com

This is, to be frank, a real disappointment. When the Samsung app went at least I could use my Nvidia Shield to watch, now that avenue also closed. Theoretically it has Chromecast built in but this rarely works. Faced with having to shell out for a separate Chromecast device again (sold mine because was no need for it). Very annoyed and disappointed. This is regressive.

Apologies Phil Little, we know its not ideal for many users such as yourself. Hopefully in the future we can justify bringing those apps back as they're both great platforms. I wish we had more flexability and didn't have to make such a tough choice. I really hope we can make it up to you with improved content

as the FAQ loops back to this post - can we clarify the following, does this include the Amazon FireStick App?  because you have now removed the Roku App and the AppleTV app and I would rather not cast/airplay to the TV :(.

Please clarify: does this mean I can't watch on my Android phone via the app anymore?

I've just had an update for my NextUp FireTV app, are you still supporting the apps for the time being?

When you say the Android TV app, does that mean the Amazon Firestick app is ok and will continue to be supported?

Awww I’m really disappointed by the retirement of the Apple TV app. It was great to be able to watch on my Apple TV and use my phone at the same time to talk with friends who are also watching. When casting that won’t be possible 😔

Very disappointed....

And the FAQ here link does not work??

The majority of the time watch through the android app on my phone and firestick on tv. Only occasionally on my laptop.

If the nextup team are struggling for their next pay rise I would have thought advertising and making it easier to view would be the way to go rather than making it unnecessary hard?

I've never used chrome cast and don't see why I should have to register and share more information to another data thief.

Thanks Kai ,for keeping us informed. I usually watch Next Up on my IPad, so no worries. I can Chromecast to my Toshiba TV if I have company .
