🚨 Got 2 minutes to help save grassroots live comedy? (Yes, really!)

Hiya UK NextUppers! 

We recently got an email from the Live Comedy Association (LCA), and they need our help with something incredibly important.

Right now, grassroots live music gets a lot of love and official backing from the government, but grassroots live comedy doesn't get that same recognition as an essential part of the creative industries. The LCA is trying to change that so our industry can get the support, funding and respect it deserves.

This week, they went to Westminster to pitch this directly to MPs, but to really make a dent, they need volume. That’s where we come in.

It takes literally two minutes to help them out. Here is what we need to do:

• Step 1: Click this link to send a pre-written letter to your local MP.

• Step 2: The letter asks them to back the campaign and pressure the Culture Secretary, Lisa Nandy, to support live comedy.

• Step 3: Share the link with your comedy-loving friends and family.

The more noise we make, the harder we are to ignore. Let's show them how powerful the NextUp community is!

👼Thursday: The Bill Murray (aka Angel Comedy) showcases the best talent in the UK and beyond. Lots of their regulars have gone on to appear on Live at the Apollo, on panel shows like Mock The Week or have their own specials on Netflix. It's a friendly place where you get to see tomorrow's stars just before they break big!

The lineup (which we've been told might slightly change) is: Evaldas Karosas, Omar Badawy, Joe Foster, Josephine Lacey and the MC is Ben Pope!

🎤 Tuesday: Comedy Knockout, a comedy competition where 12 new acts battle it out for a chance at winning a coveted weekend spot at the @backyardcomedyclub where they’ll get to perform alongside some the countries top comedians.
