From one to the next, we're on a bit of a roll with this now, aren't we?

We’re filming a brand new special with comedian Geoff Norcott next week, and, if he's up for it, we’ll grab a quick little Q&A while we’ve got him. 🎥

So…what should we ask Geoff?

If you're new to this series, anything comedy is on the table. Writing new bits, pre-gig rituals, nerves, hecklers, bombing (and recovering), warm-ups, favourite rooms, how jokes get built, whatever you’re curious about.

Pop your question in the comments 👇

We’ll choose 3–5 and get him to answer!

Deadline is Monday, 27 April 2026, midday, BST.

That sounds like such a properly good weekend!! That lineup was killer too.

I don’t really have favourites in the personal sense, but if we’re talking shows I’d always be excited to catch, I’ve got a soft spot for mixed bills at places like Monkey Barrel / The Stand!

No because it was literally January yesterday and now it's almost MAY?! While I process this, here's what's on this week! The lineup for Glee Club Cardiff is also looking brilliant...😍

And while you wait for the livestream, here's a 10 minute bit by Rachel Parris from our YouTube for ya! Go give it a like.😁

I told you on the livestream last night we'd be back with another Ask a Comedian soon, but this time, it's a little different! If you follow us on social media, you'll know our comedy clips tend to go 'viral' for lack of a cringe word 🤣. So we thought it would be a good idea to interview these comedians and get some insider knowledge on the bit. The first joke is Alasdair-Beckett King's 'Arguing with an American' which has had over 1.4 MILLION views on Insta. This is what he had to say!

  1. Have you had any noticeably offended Americans in the audience? Never! Every American I’ve met in real life was lovely. It’s the ones I haven’t met you have to watch out for.

  2. Ever had any history related heckles? For some reason, I attract an unusually pedantic audience. So if I make a factual error on stage (like getting the year the Spinning Jenny was invented wrong) I’m in danger of a heckle. Or, more likely, a polite email.

  3. What’s the most niche reference you’ve ever got away with? I recently did a show in Liverpool’s beautiful, but unfortunately named, Epstein Theatre. It’s named after Brian, of course. But it afforded me a few jokes that REALLY wouldn’t make sense anywhere else.

  4. How often do you go down historical rabbit holes looking for punchlines? Well, I do a regular podcast called Loremen about folklore and historical oddities, so I would say the funny bits find me.

  5. If our readers watch the full show, without giving it away, which is your favourite bit they should look out for? I couldn’t possibly say what the funniest part of the show is. But the most enjoyable part to perform was the VERY relatable bit about painting cows in the 18th century.

Hope you enjoyed gang! I'll be posting more of these regularly for those who like quick reads (and don't worry, videos for Ask a Comedian are still on!) 😁
